What will this mean for Hawaii Railway fans? A good chance that Add-On's will be created that will allow simulations of the O.R.&L., Kahului RR, Hilo RR and of course, a simulation of what a future Oahu Commuter and Freight Railway might look like. For people who aren't familiar with the latest version of Microsoft Flight Simulator, the realism of these games is truly amazing, and on a sufficiently configured computer you can enjoy a REAL-TIME 3D experience that is highly engaging as well as educational. These games, including the original Microsoft Train Simulator 1, which was sold to Atari, allow a wide range of simulated activities taken from the pages of real train operations- such as moving freight loads over mountain passes, monitoring in bound and out bound trains, freight yards, and much more.
