Oahu's NEXT railway requires some creative thinking, I believe. This isn't just another commuter railway, because Oahu has some UNIQUE island railway needs, and a SPECIAL railway history.

Because the current Oahu Rail public debate lacks the "soul" of what a railway is about

and doesn't even consider what would make an Oahu railway a SUCCESS, based upon actual

Oahu Railway history, is the reason, I think, why many people don't seem to want it.

My other Oahu INTER-MODAL Freight Railway essay ideas are HERE:

Not something Oahu Railway NEEDS, but shows other people doing CREATIVE THINKING!

Some very interesting APPLIED CREATIVE THINKING!

Kauai is moving ahead to grow "Ethanol" like Brazil.  Let's apply this idea to Oahu Rail!

Basically I rant about the apparent LACK of historic CONTEXT in the current concept...

...Also about getting freight trucks OFF of H-1, something no one on Oahu dares talk about?

I'm NOT a train engineer, (or play one on TV) but, don't think modern diesels are LOUD

I REALLY like this analogy! Seems to me rails are for Freight AND Passengers too!

Tunnels are fine for Railways, but the current plan is too narrowly focused for Oahu's needs

I'm no expert on getting Federal Funds for Railways, but current trends are in our favor!

Something we can make RIGHT HERE in our own back yard! ...Endorsed by Willie Nelson!

Totally "Blue Sky" but a reasonably logical path that emphasizes the West Oahu Freight angle...

Some general thoughts that didn't fit anywhere else. See this Hawaii Railways website for photos.
